Galerie Nordenhake Mexico City is pleased to present No es un poema, aunque soñemos muchas cosas by the theater collective Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol opening during GAMA Week. The exhibition invites us to consider art as an activity that can take on many forms, but whose most intrinsic quality is movement.
Curated by the collective, the exhibition brings together existing works and new commissions by various artists and collaborators from around the world, whose practice ranges from painting to installation, including Abril Ramos Xochiteotzin, Bagus Pandega, Dayanita Singh, Eduardo Pizarro, Isabel Yáñez, Jo Ractliffe, Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol, Luisa Pardo, Lázaro Gabino Rodríguez, Mario García Torres, Matthew Krishanu, Mirosław Bałka, Nereyda López, Nicolás Pereda, Olga de Amaral, Pedro Pizarro and Soumya Sankar Bose.
As part of the exhibition, a series of performances will be presented on different days throughout the show. As well a conversation with artist Bagus Pandega will take place on Saturday September 5 at 2pm.

Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol is a flock of artists working on stage, making books, radio, and videos, as well as engaging in pedagogical processes. Since 2003, they have been developing projects as a mechanism to connect work and life, blurring and redrawing boundaries. Their work seeks to create narratives based on real events, moving away from entertainment to provide a space for thinking, articulating, shifting, and unraveling what everyday life merges, overlooks, or presents as a given.
Things are what they are, but they can also be otherwise.
They have presented their work in almost every state in Mexico and have participated in festivals, independent venues, state theaters, and universities.
