»Galerie Nordenhake 50 Years – Stockholm«
Stockholm, July 02, 2026 - August 15, 2026
VERNISSAGE THURSDAY, JULY 2, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
Galerie Nordenhake celebrates its 50th anniversary with a major exhibition unfolding simultaneously across its three spaces in Stockholm, Berlin, and Mexico City. Opening during the first weekend of July, Galerie Nordenhake Berlin, Stockholm, Mexico City, 50 years brings together historical pieces and newly commissioned works by 84 artists. Functioning as both an exhibition and a living archive, it traces the history of the gallery from its inception in 1976 to the present day. Rather than following a chronological framework, the exhibition centers on the artists, their work and interwoven relationships cultivated by the gallery over five decades.
Highlights of the Stockholm chapter of the show include Olle Bærtling’s last known painting (Ksard, 1980); Richard Serra's Step-Up, a seminal work from 1988; Donald Judd's Untitled (87-32 Menziken); Antony Gormley's Shaft (1988), created during a pivotal period in the artist’s career; a special edition of Magnus Wallin groundbreaking piece Exit (1996-1997), including the video and original concept sketches from 1996; and Ann-Sofi Sidén Fideicomissum (2000).
Photographs from the late 1990s by Dawoud Bey and Nan Goldin are also on view, including Ulrika, Stockholm (1998), Goldin’s portrait of Ulrika Nordenhake.
